An Unaffordable Love

I remember all the heart-break trapped inside this lonely shell
You took everything I ever owned and left me in this hell,
I should have known that you were a materialist
That nothing in this whole wide world would ever really fit.
I downed you with diamonds, fur skins and all you yearned
Working several different jobs just so I could earn,
Enough to completely afford your fickle way of life
Everything I needed to make you my doting wife.

Or so I thought...

They say hate’s a strong word; well I’m looking for one stronger.
