A Life-Long Lesson

A frozen glacier of time
Melts into my future world,
Exposing forgotten acolytes
From a distant, clouded youth,
A juggernaut recalling
Encumbered youthful thoughts,
A reiterating cavalcade
Of innocence in childhood eyes,
This twisted recollection
Of a youth spent by the by,
As the hands of time swivelled
To be captured in thy eye.

Is there an answer to be gavelled?
Does the swing release the truth?
Does childhood live forever?
Unaccompanied by the years
A kaleidoscopic slide-show
Shows the unignited truth,
That adolesce doesn’t offer
Or even camouflage the lie,
That waning time will make it better
As it passes you’ll forget,
The unabridged version of truth
Is that you always did suspect.
