BYE-BYE

A cosmonautic view above
Shows silver shots of worlds,
Precariously hung in time
Like astronomic pearls,
The grandeur and the mystery
Of what is left behind,
Is wondrous, but extinct
When captured in thy eye.

Planetary pulsations
Crepuscular twilights,
Telescopically witnessed
In astrological delight,
This marker of another globe
No longer co-exists,
In this! Mankinds, universe
But is it really his?

Illuminated injections
Nocturnal skies at night,
Disappeared, light-years ago
Remaining in his sights,
So what he sees, maybe it’s false
These stars, at which he stares,
Terrestrial implosions,
Of a world no longer there.

Star gazing.

It's a bit like watching the news really, or listening to a politician's speech. What you see isn't necessarily what you get. Well done, it ends with a bang, like the non-existant star we think we are looking at.

great poem Lycon
