My Shady Tree
A patch of shade
Under that maple tree
Where my poems come to life
And they set me free
A gentle wind grazes
Over my face
Laying on this blanket
Is my magical place
Words seem to be sitting
Right there in the sky
I take my pen to the paper
And I give poetry a try
There’s no rhyme or reason
For what I write about
Just my feelings and worries
They seem to come out
The outside world around me
Is like one big special book
With all the perfect words
Everywhere I look.
The lake that shines
Like shattered glass
Or the pretty birds
That fly right passed.
The brilliant blue sky
Bluer than blue
And the puffy white clouds
Floating into view.
The outside world
Gives us words in plain sight
If you just take the time
You’ll see that I’m right.

Beautiful ode to nature
Linda,
This is really a beautiful ode to nature. Most of the greatest poems are created using nature as one's muse.
Loved it,

It's nice to know that some
It's nice to know that some people still take time to smell the roses... get it. Mother nature is amazing. It helps in your thinking process. I really like your poem.
Lynett....
