~THE RETIRING MAILMAN~

The people in our neighborhood
Wanted to give Jim a gift
The mailman was retiring
On this last day, of his shift

Betty made him brownies
All chewy, gooey good
And Suzie gave him liquor
The best gift in the hood

When he brought my mail that day
I said, “Come on in the house”
Told him to come upstairs
And be as quiet as a mouse

I think he like my gift that day
An afternoon delight….
We sat down for a spot of tea
It all just seemed so right

I put a dollar on the table
Right in front of Jim
He asked me what’s the dollar for?
So, I began to tell him~

“What should I give the mailman?”
I asked my husband with a holler
He said “fuck the mailman, honey
Just give him a dollar”…

HAHAHA. I liked this one,

HAHAHA. I liked this one, especially the surprise ending. But be careful about pissing off mailmen! Remember the phrase going postal from the 90s? Peace, NSF

Geegle.

Hey this made me geegle. Lol, I was wondering if I could ask for a favor. I just posted a poem today called Her. and it's about a guitar, not a lady, lol. But, it would make me joyous if you'd give me your thoughts upon it. Thanks. =]

Just Putting This Out There.

Well, here I'm just saying that this site should put out a guestbook for each poet on here. Like, you've read so many poems you want to say how great they ALL are, not just one, you'll sign their guestbook. You know? Lol, sorry, this is random but I just wanted to put it out there.
Cassie.

MAMMA MIA --- CAN YOU WRITE!

Thanks for taking the time to read my poetry. I like your writing style---it is very vivid---a lot of Kodak moments---tee hee.

Want to know something funny?---My dad is a retired mailman -- named Jim! It was a pleasure connecting with you.
