MY SUNSHINE FRIEND

The warming sun upon my face
Puts me in my happy place
Penetrating through layers of skin
Healing pains from deep within

With my eyes just slightly closed
A sprinkling of freckles upon my nose
Oh sun, you seem to warm my soul
Is there anything, you can’t console?

Your rays filter through my lashes
Sending shadows in tiny splashes
Seeing colors with my eyes shut tight
Even then, you seem so bright

You gather round and cuddle me
And blurt out loud your sympathy
My heart radiates and begins to glow
Encouraging me, to “let it go”

Sun, you make me feel so alive
You even help the flowers thrive
Your kindness scatters over the land
Welcoming, your helping hand.

The job you hold is a special gift
Giving my spirit, a mighty lift
Oh, my sun you have such style
You know how to make me smile!!
