~Mr. You~

I’m glad I’ve never seen your face
Or known the color of your eyes
It really doesn’t matter to me
Those are only a disguise

I’ll never know how tall you are
Or if you have large feet
Honestly I could care less
I just know that you are sweet

I never wonder if you’re fat
Or even if you’re thin
Size just never matters to me
It’s all about what’s within

Who cares if you have a lot of hair
Or a shiny, balding head?
Those kinds of things are confusing
And often get you mislead.

Even if I ever see
Your face, your hair your nose
I will never give it a thought
For a friend, it’s you I chose

All I do know is you are very nice
And as kind as you can be
I only truly see your HEART
And that’s enough for me.

A world ruled by numbers

Linda,

In a world ruled by numbers (bank balance, height, weight and age etc.) this is the most loving poem anyone can write.

It is a measure of the goodness of heart of the person who wrote it.

I loved it

Dolan

Thank you, Dolan

I truly meant everything in this poem. I've said it before...you can really tell what a person is like through their poetry...and i just love everyone I have met here.
Now...let's have a party!!!
Thank you so much Dolan for your kind comments.
They are greatly appreciated!

Sentiments..

The warm sentiments really shine through in this one Linda, and appearances are mere obstructions that prevent us from seeing the real person. You have captured the essence of the human spirit-LOVE.

DEbs x

I need a date

That was such a wonderful poem, I'd kiss you but my lips still have sores, my gums are bleeding and my teeth , all four of them are a bit loose. I'd hug you but my left arm is six inches shorter than my right and I wind up shoving my shoulder into most peoples gut, being I am only 4 ft 9in tall. Then there's my stomach which gets in the way of reaching you, since I am 220 lbs, then again my shingles would keep you away also. Other than that I need a date for Saturday, when can I pick you up? Mother says she doesn't mind waiting out front till you come out. I don't have a car. Oh and my winkie is only 3 inches long. :)

Is McDonalds OK ?
hahahahahaha
ron

boy..is this a test???

Ron, honestly, to be my friend, those things never matter.
pretty funny though...
thanks for saying the poem was nice.

These sentiments are quite lovely and I can understand where you are coming from. In a faceless world like this site you truly get to know what's undeneath the surface features. You have writtne a well worded and well intentioned piece.

Pete

Yes, Pete

This IS a faceless world we are in on the site, isnt it? A few years back this would never have happened. None of us would have ever met each other.
It's so cool.
thanks for your nice comment pete
Linda

Beautifully Written

This is a lovely write Linda, so sincere and thoughtful. I think you're so right in this piece, years ago most of us would never had read each others work, let alone be able to comment or discuss it! It's amazing how we seem to get to know what someone is like, just through their writes!
Great piece that could have quite easily been written for you! (Though obviously it would have been called Mrs You) Lol,
Dave

yes, i really do feel i have gotten to know different people on the Showcase. its so nice to make friends this way too.
i think when you write to someone , you talk more openly than if you were in person sometimes. especially through poetry.
thanks dave for such kind comments. i appreciate it, as always!
