Love Lines
Do I ever make you smile
when the words go back and forth
do you linger
do you wonder
do you ever hope for more?
Do you lounge around my page
like the sound of what you’ve heard
do you clench
do you coddle
or cuddle up to pretty verbs?
Do you take your sweet time
to read between those honeyed lines?
do your eyes sparkle
does your nose crinkle
can you read my mind?
