L.O.V.E.

(an acrostic poem)

Maybe, just maybe

You could help me understand because

Vocabulary words can’t seem to describe it and

Actually, I’ve been wondering what the letter V means in the word

Love. I think it means forever and

Eternal (maybe vocabulary words can describe?) but

Nothing, absolutely nothing could even

Touch the way I feel about you

Including Romeo and Juliet’s love

Not even The Prince of Tides love, would be enough to

Ever describe how I feel about you!

Dear Linda
Was hoping you would cave in, instead love cave in to you, is this about your secret love "The Moon" I can not help myself cause I know who is your first love , my heart is jealous that I will always come second, third, fourth...and so on in line
Happy Valentine

its an acrostic poem :)

Blinded by jealousy

Leaking Pen
Dear Linda
I am so blinded by jealousy, that I missed the obvious in your poem, V.A.L.E.N. T. I. N.E have pity on my lonesome heart, its short slightness to be forgiven, blessed are though who weave love tapestry in plain view, not all seeing eyes are all seeing when blared with envy!
The list expands: The Moon, Valentine: Love: Recipes , The Farm......then me somewhere bottom of your list!
Truly
Paul

I L.O.V.E. It!

Hi Linda,

That's awesome! I've written a couple of acrostic pieces in my body of poetry, but this really nails it. What I deeply admire is that you haven't made it obvious at all; some poets write separate (seemingly unconnected) sentences in applying this technique, while others use an over-simplistic poetic style to achieve the same effect, but you have penned this using 'free-style' poetry. It's marvelous!

One thing bothered me. I can understand the letter V standing for 'forever' in the word Love, but I can't see how 'eternal' comes into it, unless the V (in Love) was for 'forever' and the E (in Love) was for 'eternal'. Is that what you meant? I adored the references to Romeo and Juliet, and The Prince of Tides. Whoever you dedicated this to is a very lucky man indeed.

Happy Valentines Day!

Warm regards,

Chris xo

YES Chris!

You nailed it too. Thats precisely what I meant...i was groping for something and i just went for it....i was trying not to let the acrostic part bog me down...and tried to just let my mind flow to make the poem...instead of being so strict with the exact letters...if you know what i mean!

This man i wrote it for....i love him more than anything. My husband of 35 years...my childhood sweetheart too.

Thank you so much for reading me..i really appreciate it!

Very impressive romantic poetry...

This is very impressive romantic poetry, Linda. Truly moving and heartfelt, as its tender and uplifting nature is wonderfully composed. I think the overall emotion this brings forth is wholesome and refreshing, and I came to feel inspired while reading it. One of the more impressive seasonal love poems I have read of late, I sincerely admire this creative and passionate work. Take care, Linda, and thanks for sharing.

Respectfully,
J.P. (Rex)
