Honey And Breath
I can always smell a poem
I breathe deep and
its scent is caught on my skin
I can taste it upon waking
my throat aches
and there’s honey
at the corners of my mouth.
As I stretch
a sweetness feeds me and spreads
like molasses through my limbs.
It places its lips against mine
and I can feel the pulse in its words.
I bite my bottom lip to hold back,
I’m starting to need it now.
It stares me right in the face
so, I bite harder
such a glorious world to fall into.
My morning nestles into my day
and I wonder if I’ll ever
be hungry again.
I slide my hand
down the curve of its spine.
Poems seem to know what that means.
Get over here.

Linda, Linda, such personification in this... I can't even begin to describe the unspeakable love acts I'd perform on your poems if someday they became human and leapt off my computer screen and into my room. I kinda like thinking about that... You're so hot, Linda, and I enjoy reading your heat.
Hot breath...
Neo Neo Neo...I love it when you talk to me like that..
Now you have me thinking what if..my poems actually became human...omg
(I actually think like that too Neo..is that normal??? haha i hope so!)
Thank you for reading and liking my "heat"
You are one of the best!
xoxo
Linda
normal
I think it is and wish it would happen. Especially with one of your poems... They'd be sexy! ;)
~More Honey Please~
Linda,
Of course the honey draws everyone in to taste it. Your poetry always tastes like honey; it is sweet and good for us.
Poetry is a glorious honey pot to fall into. With poetry we feed our souls and illuminate others.
This was a fascinating look at the evolution of a Linda poem. I loved it.
Warm regards,
Kathy
feeding our souls

My line about smelling a poem is truly that...I mean, thats what poetry has done for me. I see everything new again and life is sweet!!!
I think anyone who writes must know what i mean!!

Once again, I thoroughly
Once again, I thoroughly enjoy this poem. I have read it several times over the past few days. Each time, I like it more. You really are a poet.
I have posted a few more pieces lately. Let me know what you think........even if you think they're crap. Since you write like a poet then I trust you to read like one. That is the perpective that I need.
RWR, you are so nice
Thanks for your sweet comment. Im not sure if i am truly a poet but i try to write what i feel inside of me. And poetry has done so much for me i feel the need to write about it. im in love with it i guess you could say.

Meant to be a poet
This poem really shows your passion for writing and poetry in general, you know the saying, If you wake up in the morning and the first thing you think about is poetry, than you are meant to be a poet. It shows how it is so much a part of your consciousness and thought process that it just comes naturally to you. Well written!
Jill

___.what's more to say? YOU'VE JUST SAID IT ALL!!
Writing poems is just like breathing, ain't it? wow, this poem really is alive. Words can really be as "human" when the right person is holding the right pen(keypad),in the right mood, in the right time. Oh, how I wonder how it would feel to create such piece, so incredibly beautiful! Thank you for having the talent to pen this, this inspires me really. Right now, i just wanna write and write even more...maybe hoping that my poems would belt into a newborn cry! LOL.
--hugs!!!
