Alot Like Love

As the sun poked through the trees
and the vines,
there we were
leisurely sipping on wine.
The breeze ever so gentle
across our face
I was happy
in this beautiful place.
And I listened as each breath
so eloquently spoken
with gifts of a smile and
words from genuine folk.
Where new found friends
right from the start
let our minds float and
warmed gladdened hearts.
I’m sure I heard the angels sing that day
carrying gifts of love along the way
in tiny white boxes with silken bows
spilling out pink and red petals
from a sweet smelling rose.
And when the sun hung its weary head
and all the poems were finally read
the beauty in this special day
made me so glad, I came all that way!

I just got home from a poetry festival for 4 days...it warmed my heart so much. The people I met, their gentle way of living...it all was so wonderful. I'm so sad its over. It was like being in love. I know that might sound silly but its true.

Thank you Ricklovin'...You know I appreciate you reading this and your nice comments. Well, I wasnt in a sundress; it was a bit chilly, but that is a pretty vision in the fields. This poetry festival was at a beautiful winery in the midwest. the sunset was breathtaking and the poetry was sweet!

That sounds like such a cool place to go...wherever did you find out about it? Sounds like a lot of fun!

poetry festival
This sounds awesome; I wish I was there, too, and like the scene you set with this poem. It would be awesome if we all had Star Trek teleportation devices so we beam everyone from the Showcase to a field somewhere nice and have a poetry party. That would be fun.

the night before the festival, they had an "open Mike night"...they have them all over the place on different nights here where i live...im going to go to some too. Its so much fun to do...they are usually at coffee houses.... or at wine bars..where its dark and sexy and theres a microphone, and a ton of nice people willing to listen.
Youd be awesome at it jewel. it gave me a lot of confidence!!
