Things will never be the same. Only the pain remains. I left it at goodbye and that's where it'll stay. For a moment in time my sense of right almost failed. Until I remembered what the good book said. I don't always live right, I curse when I shouldn't. But I will continue to repent 'till my sins are forgiven. I chose my own path. It's one I will walk. My wife will be there 'till I am too frail to talk. My heart has not hardened, not one little bit. But at seven a.m. Guess where I sit. I watch her sleeping, thinking how close I got. To loosing this woman that God said was my lot. The good book says that marriage is holy. So the woman I'm with is my one and only. Some mistakes were made. But lessons were learned. So with no regret my heart will not turn.
