black rose

As I sit and contemplate the reason,
Why your hearts so cold.
My heart thumping with fear,
As you pass me the black rose.

The rain washing away my tears,
As I look into your soul.
What happened to our love within,
The sadness consumed it all.

As the thunder rolls in,
With lighting every where.
One by one the petals fall,
Why is life so unfair.

As the thorns pierce my skin,
As I hold the rose so tight.
Blood seeping down my wrist,
As the storm lashes out tonight.

In the heart of the storm,
I see you fade away.
Now I know the black rose,
Takes all the goodness away…
