Permission to Desire
When I see you, I kind of lose my breath.
I have to stop myself while my heart slows its racing.
You have this way of lighting me up.
I didn't want you to see this goofy grin of mine, but I can't keep it off my face when I see you walk in.
Maybe it's just that twinkle in your eyes when you look at me.
Maybe it's the way you smell and look so good that drives me to want you so badly.
Everything about you feels so right.
I don't want this feeling to ever go away.
I don't want to lose you or forget you.
It's almost as though I just can't get close enough and that is what I cannot handle.
Butterflies in my stomach rage with excitement.
Take me by the hand, hold me in your arms and let me in.
I can't just live at this distance with only the permission to desire.
