A Dream
I had a dream
Seen
Through desert’s heat
Of home
And hearth and health
The time
Of we and wine.
I had a dream
Sought
Without in winter’s chill
Of love
My home within it her
Then time
To tend our vine.
I have a dream
Still
And quiet keep it mine
Of her
One heart and soul to be
In time
I pray – in time.

Linda & A Dream
Linda -- thank you for your kind comment & I'm glad you found beauty in the poem. It was actually written in 1998 during a 5 year poetry writing cycle. I was single & had some land I intended to build on. This year I bought a home & married my sweetheart of several years -- so, the poem is fulfilled for me... in time. I don't write poetry anymore ( I tend to move from one creative medium to another) but will be posting additional poems written during that writing phase under the 'locustao' handle. I hope you'll find others that speak to you. Warm regards, Glenn A. Hines
