Redolent Memories

I was wandering, wondering through a whispering woods;
Sylvan scenery and secret memories inspire thoughts;
(I vowed never to love.)

How heavenly the hyacinth! How lovely the lilac!
Their fragrance filled my secluded soul;
I recollected longings, learnings, leavings.
(We came together, two tortured souls singing.)

I paused on the path, crossed to a clearing,
And sank into the sun-soaked grass, warm and relaxing.
(Your arms encompassed me, and I was lost.)

I breathed in, breathed out, breathed with the world,
I closed my eyes for a moment, drowzy.
(I closed my eyes for a moment, and you left forever,)

The sun started to set in the west.
(And love)

I imagined the ivy as my bed, and quietly
(Died.)

Slept.

This was in my opinion one of your best writes....

I love this piece, its passionate and beautifully worded and put together......nice work liz....peace.
