Gazing upward, marveling at the infinite depth of the midnight sky.
Eyes focused on luminous stars, landscaping a new moon, rising high.
Contemplating the speed and distance, their brilliance must travel.
In combination with endless mysteries, mankind fails to unravel.
A massive unexplored universe, told to be unending in size and reach.
Not a theory, but an indisputable fact, throughout history many teach.
It would seem short sighted and shallow to state, we are all alone.
Much relating to our own solar system remains undiscovered and unknown.
A more logical thought being,others from beyond we have not met.
With the immensity of space, the probability of life is a safer bet.
If this view was proven, much would change relative to what many believe.
To numerous religions, not proving brings sighs of undeniable relief.
Imagine the thoughts after arrival, an alien mind might voice.
Mankind killing one another, destroying our planet by choice.
If visiting in the past, why would they choose to inhabit this place.
Or let their existence and presence be known to those of the human race.
A more intelligent choice, take notes and return when all is laid to waste.
With little doubt this time approaches, just open your eyes and see.
To whose standards are we civilized, certainly not to theirs, most would agree.
Reference only the past 200 years inhabitance of modern mans life.
Has the quality improved? Or is it now riddled with ever increasing strife?
Parents never or no longer married, definition of family forever changed.
All has become quite complicated, in fact at times it resembles deranged.
Personal possessions,depression,greed,prejudice,vanity, all oppose smart.
Chasing rainbows,driven by gluttony have become a standard trademark.
Children left alone with internet,MTV,text messaging,and video games.
Xbox,Wii,Nintendo,My Space,Real World,Verizon,all new babysitter names.
No food,drink programming or language is off limits, still they complain.
Little if any order,showing respect or decent behavior now remains.
Some say,Save the world,I say please explain from what and name who!
Rule makers,rule breakers,activists,pacifists,fascists,just a few.
Religion,attrition,damnation,abortion,industry,perhaps foreign policy.
Foreign trade,educational system grades,E.P.A.,or forms of pornography.
Racism,sexism,prostitution,evolution,obesity,obscenity,starvation.
Poverty,criminals,child molesters,wife beaters,tax cheaters,immigration.
Illegal drug trafficking,dictatorships,news clips, save the whales.
Green peace,space program,welfare,jail system,cloning,pirated sales.
Government waste,government haste,motion picture makers,life takers.
Liars,gamblers,polygamists,bigamists,feminists,Insurance claim fakers.
Taxation,legislation,abstinence teaching,national security breaching.
Prescription drug prices,cigarette and alcohol vices,health care prices.
Drug makers,crack takers,Viagra creators,battery and manual sex devices.
Gas prices,pollution,payday lending institutions,toxic waste solutions.
False Gods,faith healers,alter boy feelers,misuse of church contributions.
Politicians,inflated commissions, malpractice physicians,munitions.
Ebonics,social security,water impurity,politically correct absurdity.
Much has been left out of this rambling rant.
Only because of the onset of writers cramp.
Normally,bitching,whining,moaning I am not prone.
An optimistic,uplifting outlook is what I condone.
This write answers the question of why E.T. phoned home.
And why our troubled world appears to be all alone.
