My Garden

Come into my garden, enter my life,
Don’t look so worried, I’ve put down my knife.
If you would be willing to face all the strife,
Our lives would gain meaning, they could be rife.

So long I’ve been walking this waking nightmare,
No matter my footing, the ground isn’t there.
Please won’t you help me, for I cannot bear,
My eternal march into the forests of neverwhere.

Our past is behind us, I wish to move on,
Why can’t you believe me, I’ve done no wrong.
Our lives would be trying, we must remain strong,
For our lives together I sing you my song.

When I first saw you, I couldn’t think right,
What is this creature doing out in the night?
This angelic presence belongs in the light,
You opened my eyes, gave life to my sight.

Since I last met you, I’ve hit a wall,
You’ve heard my story, now it’s your call.
If you accept me, I’ll give it my all,
For we belong together, like the rain with a waterfall.

My life has no meaning; it is so far from rife,
I’m losing the strength to face all the strife.
What could go wrong if I picked up my knife,
For this is my garden, yet you are my life.
