Complications of a Fight

Don't get me wrong.
I love the games.
But as in all games,
this one must have rules too.
Walls, boundaries, things that are okay,
and things that just go too far.
I'm good on offense, and even better on defense,
but when my defense is let down,
things shoot into very dangerous waters.
I get too close to letting emotion seep in,
slithering, slyly into my brain and actions.
May Day! May Day!
I know better.
Do not get broken!
Do not relax!
Do not let words and feelings have their say!
Stay fierce and sharp, dangerous.
Play the game.
Keep the fight.
Don't throw in the towel and let go.
Tears and aching will come into play.
If you need to slap yourself, do it.
Because my coherent mind knows that,
more than anything,
it loves to just fight and play the game.
Emotions are reserved for another place.
Another time. A different opponent.
Be wild, ferocious, brutal, merciless,
tigerish, leonine, menacing.
Be untamed, intense, strong, fiery,
enduring, powerful.
Eliminate weakness,
don't get broken.
Just play the game and fight.
