Dancing In The Rain

As I went walking late night down Bristol Street
I came face to face with brilliant dancing feet
Under the full rain, beneath the pregnant clouds
Mamma Mia! Music gathering the crowds

Tap and dance seducing my ecstatic soul
Feet splashing puddles round the electric pole
“Sing with me” He said singing and dancing
My feet gave in, two hearts romancing

Last thing I remember when I woke up
Gene Kelly drinking hot cocoa from my cup
We both dried ourselves in a nearby pub
Dreamed night long about the one dance club

He said:“If both parties learn how to dance?
Things in Washington get done in a glance
I pity all who sip Tea blindly from this century
It takes one village to built a penitentiary"

Splishing and a Splashing!

Paul,

Gotta dance! Gotta dance!

This is a great disco ball of a dream. You hit every facet of the people in the mirror, well, except John Travolta.

It is refreshing to know that your mind works like mine, bits and pieces of life pulled into the dance.

Your pregnant clouds are adorable. Who have those clouds been hanging with?

As for the prisons, your poetic exacto knife really cut into this reality. Our country is housing the world's criminals and telling teachers they do not have a job. We have put the emphasis on crime and the bite into our future.

Your use of humor is fantastic here. We may all die laughing.

I'll keep dancing in the rain if you will dance with me.

Love,

Kathy :)

Dance with me

Forever my Dear Kathy
Heart of the sunflower dance
You hit every point to the core, wish I included Saturday night fever in my poem, the Bee Gees and perhaps Olivia, I wish I could end my poem with the spirit of song and dance, my mind always dwells on the drama in our existence, I am a news junkie, all the bickering seeps into my poetry, I collect clouds like the wind collects dust, I pity teachers and nurses in our society , they do so much for us, yet we value them less and less on the value scale while blue collars criminals get a 5 star vacation instead, and the poor get poorer, and the needy and elderly neglected to fend for themselves, the prime minister of Japan quoted as saying if the elderly die early, it will relief the burden on Japanese society, who has the write to play God, or the angel of death? what a mess we are in, I escape all insanity by sheltering in music and poetry, no one can deprive me from my voice, no one can deprive me from my dance, and life becomes more bearable !!!!!

Paul!!!

What a creative poem you have here!

You had my mind wandering from one dance to the next.
What a night it was huh? :)
Great writing! So much fun!

I dream the dream

Leaking Pen
Dear Linda
I am glad you enjoyed the dance, I dream the dream I could dance, love to take dance lessons, but I have a heavy left foot always comes in the way, one day I will, but now I dance in my dreams instead, I dreamt I won the latest dance competition dancing with the stars, I wish it was true! I don't know why I turned the poem from the love of dance to bitter politics amoung our politicians, wish things were as simple as an invitation to a dance, tomorrow I will wake up to reality but for now it was fun to dream and wish!

Classic Hollywood

Dear Paul,

What an epic poem! I absolutely loved it! What a song and a dance :-D

I really admire your description, too, such as 'pregnant clouds' - awesome.

By the way, in the 3rd stanza, 3rd line, 'near by' is just one word. i.e. nearby

Well done, my friend - a great write! Rock on :-)

Best regards,

Chris

Red Wine & Chocolates = Love

Thanks Paul. My spaghetti bolognese turned out really well, but Mandy said that she felt a bit tipsy on the red wine in it (that's the whole idea, sweetheart! LOL). In Japan, the women give chocolates to the guys on Valentine's Day (it's a Japanese thing; they also have 'White Day' exactly one month later where the guys give chocolates/gifts to the ladies), so we enjoyed dinner, red wine, and chocolates! Awesome!! :-D

I'm glad you found my suggestion helpful - it's always a pleasure, mate.

Warmest regards,

Chris
