dance of destiny
There are feelings,situations, dreams, memories
That conjure up all manner of thought processes
For which no words exist. On the other hand, the world
Is littered with millions of spare words which spend their time
Doing nothing, but loaf around in millions of books
Usually held in libraries that point you to other books!
Your job as a poet-whatever- is to get these words down
Off the shelves and into the mouths of adults, babes and
Sucklings and so on, where they can start earning their keep
In truthful, everyday conversations. eg A few hours ago
I walked in torrential rain to the local library in search of words
To add positive contribution to society. The word 'luffness'
Jumped out on me from an old book picked up at random.
Do you know the meaning of that word? It means 'walking on
The moon in gum-boots'! Then there was the word 'lulwort'
Which means'a measure of conversation when every bastard
Has stopped talking. So many many words dressed in newness.
'Quall' yet another, and that means a person who speaks
With forked tongue who makes the poor illiterates feel
They are wrong. What about 'qurron'This is a small minded person
No one has ever heard of. Finally, the word 'radlett' that is an
Empty hemisphere the size of a dried pea invariably found in
University professors in religious faculties who are still bound
BY old words written 2000 years ago who have not heard
Of quantum physics.I end this piece of enlightening matter
On the word 'scuggog' This is a person whose mouth hangs open
At a piece of talking anatomy swaying lustfully across the other side
Of the road! Quite frankly I personally do not believe one word of this
How about you?
