TWAS THE NIGHT OF HALLOWEEN
Twas two weeks before Halloween
And something wasn’t right
I had two little girls bugging me to death
Oh what a night
How many days before Halloween
Is it 14, 12, 7 how many more?
“I have no idea!!!” I shouted
I ‘m not the one keeping score!!
Twas now the night of Halloween
And all through the night
Kids were getting dress in their costumes
Oh what a sight!!
No this aint x-mas no candy canes or trees
It’s pumpkin time; creepy crawlies and all the woes
There is no x-mas present or misle toes
But let me take you to my home
A little house on Churchill lane
Where my cute little girl becomes a gothic vampire
Oh what a shame!!
Now don’t get me wrong
You know I love my baby girl with all my heart
But as you know from past poems
Something about to start
It started out ok door to door trick or treat
But as the night wove on
All I heard was how sore are my feet!
What happened to these kids?
We’d go for hours to get our candy
Now they barely go 15 minutes
Wanted to be driven door to door “such lazy dandies”
But we’ve driven off the path
Of my sweet little girl
Who ended the night
On a blood screaming curl
Ringing a door bell; open with an old man mask
She let out a scream; like he stabbed her in the a...
Oh what a sight
My poor cousin hath seen
My baby girl coming
Like she was living a death scene
So as we close out the night
With the whole neighborhood looking around
Wondering who was scaring that poor little girl
That she would screen so out loud
Another Halloween has come and gone
I can’t help but dread the holiday yet to be seen
For I’m barley getting over this unbelievable Halloween!!
So I hope your night was better
For mines as you have seen
Has turn into a blood bath
On what was suppose to be a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
