Ode to a lighthouse
Who can count the many faces that have gazed upon your beauty?
How many the storms ridden over countless miles of water safe in the knowledge that you would guide them?
A beacon,
A signal of Hope,
A guiding light to welcome all.
How many faces did not see your beauty?
How many unaware of your presence as the forces of Mother Nature conspired to thwart your best of intentions?
A symbol
A reminder
A monument to those who died trying.
Long may you stay as a saviour to all be it summer, winter, or foggy days fall
Staunchly defying the harsh and cruel weather a sanctuary bold on which birds at times tether!
A stalwart
A memento
A reason to prevail.

Good one
I have a deep fondness for lighthouses and lighthouse keepers, a hardy bunch. Their commitment to keeping people safe, guiding, a sense of hope providing the light to safety. Thanks for paying tribute. raskin
