By the Lake

I watch the moon outside my window
As the waves gently caress the shore
The land stays stoic and unmoving
But still the waves come back for more

The moon’s glistening reflection lightly dances
Like a thousand pale lips across lovers necks
The muffled sounds of night go on around me
As I sit here in stony silence on this deck

The water is so dark and black
You almost can’t tell sea from sky
It’s enchantment draws me in
I begin to walk forward unsure why

I start making ripples on the calm surface
When suddenly the darkness pulls me down
The last thing I see is the brilliant moon
As I slowly, but ever so sweetly drown

this is nice

I live in between two small lakes and love watching the water move at night. Your descriptions here are very appropriate. Good stuff.
