I bought some flowers for you today,
I had no reason, had nothing to say.

They looked so pretty, lilac and green,
I needed to give them so they could be seen.

I felt a bit silly to give them to you,
without a purpose, just something to do.

So I kept them myself, with a smile on my face,
how lovely they looked in my favorite place.

And then you came, to visit me,
Those beautiful flowers you did see.

You looked so sad what could I do,
when you said you wished they'd been given to you.

So when you left, time to say goodbye,
I gave them to you and it made you cry.

So from this day, I will always give,
and hope that's how we all shall live.
