Waiting for a Heart.
I sit alone in the midst of friends,
Hopeless against the tide of loneliness that washes over me
Scared of speaking out of place
Scared of losing face
I sit amongst happiness and feel afraid-
afraid that I’m losing-
losing hope-
Hope for a friend
Hope that it’s not the end.
I sit in the grass with my eyes closed
Scared the tears won’t go away
Hoping that my friends will stay
Waiting for the questions to start,
Waiting for a Heart.
