Memories of Me

Twisted, turned, backwards, upside down
Forgettable, destroying, sound asleep
Thoughts of you leave me left with a frown
I gave you everything, but nothing you could keep
Every word you said was a deceiving sound
I pray to God when you think of me you can't sleep
When you push me away, I'm easily to be found
Look behind you, in the shadows I creep
You'll hear my heartbeat every pound
And I hope everything you put me through, you'll reap
The words you spoke made me drown
When you think of me, I hope you fall to your knees and weep
Scream, torture, falling to the ground
The memories of me will ALWAYS be this deep

Loved it. It vividly

Loved it. It vividly captures feelings that I experienced myself. I especially liked the line "I gave you everything, but nothing you could keep." Very powerful. One thing, I believe in line 11 you meant drown. Look forward to more pieces from you.

-"The dead of midnight is the noon of thought." Anna Barbauld
