One-Way Streets

Bitter winter nights have faded
Yet the cold in my heart remains
The fire in my heart has burnt out
As has the fireplace

I walk the roads of sorrow
The resolving destination nowhere in sight
Finding myself only at one-way streets
The magic in my life has died

The sky has lost its colour
The flowers have lost their scent
Partly, I fear of future hours
As well as feeling letdown by the present

Wishful thinking leads to sinking
No positivity any longer crosses my mind
I have sunk too low to recognize
The places I have left behind
