Psalm 23 on Canvas

God’s shadow falls across life’s valleys
His shoulders, the hues of the horizon
Light melts in darkness rolling softly
Gentle hills bend and raise their arms

Ambivalence

Ambivalence is afoot
Walking in our midst
Denying each other
The time to venture
Into our providence
To awaken the heart

Freedom is not blind
Freedom is our vision
To recognize disorder

Face to Face

Sallow men in shallow suits
Walk the halls of institutes
With jaundiced eyes of old
Scouring the shining floors
Like legends of ancient lore

Weathered military figures

Toot

Unemployment blues
Is when you toot your own horn
And no one listens

The Tangled Child

Spiritual architects step
Inside the tangled child
To set stepping stones
For dreams to walk on
In the midst of poverty
In the midst of anguish

Spiritual architects step

The Legal Slipknots of Injustice

The slipknot of unemployment is waiting for you. The noose is swinging in trees all over the nation.

Love Bouquet

Love gathers blossoms
Into a tall crystal vase
Arranging each bloom
To highlight each face

Budding friendships
Heart’s desires
Plain and fancies
What love inspires

Baby’s breath

Double Bubble

With my new bubble wand
I blew a big blue bubble
To a faraway kingdom
That always sees double

Floating like pixie dust
It left a magical trail
Glittering passageway
To a sweet fairy tale

Stone Beats on Bone

Stone beats on bone
A grinding cold path
Heaving with moans
Consumed in wrath

Punctuating their life
With a cloak of hate
Forging their success
With their human bait

Powerful jaws of sin

Head on Collision

Mr. President
I can’t see what is ahead
Turn off your high beams

Star Seeds

Angel homes rest in winter's trees
On sparkling, glittering star seeds

White light angels of hope for spring
Nesting high in trees with halo rings

The shimmering from their twinkling wings

Mind-Go-Round

The door in my round mind
Swings around and around
A circumference for a brain
In a living merry-go-round

Grey walls with gray clocks
Ticking and talking all day
Taking memos and matters

Be Free

Butterflies are graceful reminders of God’s beauty in motion. As a child, my emotions would bubble over when I saw butterflies.

Little Doves of Bethlehem

Little doves of Bethlehem
Please show us the way
To your home in olive trees
Where healing branches lay

Side by side you journeyed
Above the flooding Earth
Carrying the olive branch

Daily Bread

In wheat fields, we find our strength
In her golden sunrise we see rebirth
Unrehearsed, we seek to discover
The bounty of our nation’s Earth

Lost in her waves of amber grain
