On the stroke of Halloween
Silhouettes form deep inside
Dark souls seeking company
With time travelers creeping
Into stale hallways creaking
In death’s tones beseeching

The gallop of white steeds
Plowing the earth’s greed
Unearthing truth’s seeds
Gems delivered in our needs
Messengers in God’s speed
Hearing earth’s hearts plead

A flaming dove descends from darkness
Fire ebbs on the shore of an ebony skyline
A thunderous implosion of minds blazing
Gazing through God’s mind into eternity

In the middle of the night, it comes, the knock
The pounding of my mind’s frame, deafening
Summoning me to arise and face the darkness
To open the door to unwelcomed black angels

Mind block straight ahead
Put flares up for thought detour
Proceed with caution

Time’s hands sit in silence
Bathed in snow’s slumber
Stars of Christ’s presence

Glistening white streams
Of dreams in silk cocoons
Weaving messages of God

A palette for living
White as the snow
Colors for mixing
The life I will grow

Spatters of glitter
Stars of my birth
Water for washing
Wellsprings of Earth

Brush of the Master

Stripped and striped
Like a zebra in a zoo
A middle-aged poet
Prisoner of bad news

Staring at bare walls
Living on Hard Street
If only I was employed
I’d move up to Easy Street

The Snowflake Ball has begun
They waltz under the bright sun

Gently locked in sweet embraces
Powder white formals and faces

Veils of lace falling in flurries
Moving gracefully in a hurry

My heart is a fist
It wants to punch your lights out
