With My Eyes Closed

Twinkling lights glimmer through the black forest night
Like miniature lanterns dancing on the back of the wind
They move in and out like headlights rolling in the sky
Drifting through the fog they land in the trees and wait
Flickers and shimmers bounce in tree houses like fireflies
Dancing wicks sitting in the silence of night like guardians
In the stillness of their soft lights I settle into my thoughts
To drift into a sea of slumber that rocks me gently to sleep
In a blanket of bliss I surrender to the stars behind my eyes
