The Knock

In the middle of the night, it comes, the knock
The pounding of my mind’s frame, deafening
Summoning me to arise and face the darkness
To open the door to unwelcomed black angels
To wrestle with the tongues of beasts spitting
Tugging at my heart, convulsing in my dreams
Stirring the perils of sin, and pangs of its poison
Begging me to drink a full cup of its worldliness
Tempting me to wade into the wealth of death
To die unto myself, and join this league of liars
To follow in victory over the forgotten and lost
Treading on God’s children in one united blow
To know the stench of greed and live in its lap
The bold faced nightmare of a waking universe
Heed the knock, it knows our names, it pounds
It pounds and pounds to pulverize our visions
And prepare us for the coming of uncertainty
To carry us where no man knows justice, Hell
In the middle of the night, it comes, the knock

Matthew 6:33
“Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness.”

Jahblessed,

Thank you for your spiritual support. Evil is so fond of our company. Heed the knock. May God be with us, always.

Warm regards,

Kathy
