A Poet's Prayer
For every verse poured out unrehearsed
I thank you God
Your signature on my hand will withstand
I thank you God
For words to number your stars in thoughts afar
I thank you God
In the peace of your delivery, I am delivered
I thank you God
To amplify your words, you quiet mine
I thank you God
Surrendering to the meek, I find the God I seek
I thank you God
Carrying justice, I weep for injustice
I thank you God
In the solace of this moment, you hold my desires
I thank you God
Only in being convicted, can one realize their convictions
I thank you God
Only in falling, can one rise
I thank you God
In this pause, I find cause to understand where I am going
I thank you God
A poet’s miter can change the world
I thank you God
In finding my dreams, I have found yours
I thank you God
