Peace Like a River

Words fell like rocks along the riverbed.

A skyline lit in neon blossomed into red.

Caught in the moon’s magnificent smile,

I drifted on the current of a heart’s tide.

Gazing at the tumbling weeds of wants,

I felt hunger cry for dreams deep inside.

Skin bare against my streams of thought,

I tingled in the warmth of an evening sky.

Reflections melted into heaven’s harvest,

And I was blessed without knowing why.

Surely contentment is more than my gain,

I must learn to recognize an earth’s pain.

A Mother bears such joy as she delivers;

Lost in her child, lost in time, and rivers.

The wonder of clouds weeping into sea,

A silence that surrenders its arms to me.

Life embraces what our hearts will hold,

Serenity that the wind and trees behold.

God’s breath that makes the stars glow

Is the wind, against our hearts, it blows.

Such lovely, uplifting poetry, Kathy...

This is such lovely, uplifting poetry, Kathy. I truly came to enjoy it. I like the beautiful, heartwarming imagery you were able to relate throughout the wording, and the way you were able to express such delicate and passionate emotion. This fine work vividly displays your artistic abilities to convey exceptional atmospheric appeal, as it reads so gloriously picturesque...so visually compelling. I sincerely admire the rich, glowing spiritual nature of this. Thank you so much for sharing another deeply inspiring, and wonderfully composed write. Take care, Kathy, and God bless you.

Reach for the Stars, Find Heaven

Dearest BK16,

Thanks for bringing light to my world today. I love hearing from you. I am never sure where my poetry is taking me, but it is like climbing a ladder to the stars. I truly appreciate knowing that my verse can provide nourishment; I know that it makes me feel better when I compose it.

Art makes me feel spiritually connected; it always has. We need fine arts back in our schools.

I read a neat story today about a scientist that loved Van Gogh and decided to do a quick paint on the science of the stars, moons, and planets and was shocked to find scientific answers in his art. I believe in this with all my heart. There are answers for us in our writing, music, painting, etc.

Art is not only good for the heart, it is good for the soul. I love being buddies with you, you are very kind.

Have a blessed day dear friend.

Love,
