Paradise Within
When dreams melt into winter
Trees collect in earth’s promise
Like guardian angels they stand
With their hands to the heaven
Grey branches against eternity
Like wings extended to ascend
Embracing what Mother bares
Wedded to God within its rings
Measuring storms and rainbows
Tears of heaven silently growing
The grace of new life preparing
The presence of Creation stirring
Unveiled within living and dying
Unseen paradise, soul blossoms
Within each death, Jesus is rising
Rising like the spring butterflies
Returning us to heaven’s arbors
Rising on luminous silver wings
To an evergreen garden of love
The Paradise of our beginnings
A Paradise of our God complete
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me, and I in him, he will bear much fruit.”

The Beauty of Nature
Such a beautiful winter scene...I love to photograph the trees with their bare branches against the sky. I like how you find the beauty, the reverence in nature. I like how you describe the trees as reaching, with hands and wings, you make the scene come alive.
I find your poetry so inspiring.

Jill,
I always appreciate your support and kindness. Thanks.
I am glad you liked this poem. I wrote this for a 2nd cousin that was killed in a car accident earlier this week.
I never met her. She lived in Ohio. She was only 15 years old.
I was trying to draw a comparison between trees and guardian angels. Trees are our guardians on earth; we depend on them and they depend on us.
Poetry is pictures and feelings. I am glad this poem inspired you. I hope it consoles my family members in Ohio.
Warm regards,
Kathy
