The Soul Train

The wind whistles into the night as the fog lifts from the tracks in sight.

Amid the air of such uncertainty, is a destination where all can be set free.

The engine steams into billows of cumulus pouring in every known hue.

All aboard this paradigm, passengers frame windows with a point-of-view.

One way tickets to be sold in time, like a poet finding rhythms in rhymes.

Reality streaks across the dark station as every heart anticipates its elation.

The conductor examines the hearts of every transcendent coming aboard.

In matters of happiness, no one passenger must ever feel less, or ignored.

98.75% of all a human does, is for the want of their needs, a just because.

Flawed the essence of how the mind does run when self is all one becomes.

Genius is the Mother of all that has been nurtured in the art of the divine.

To find one’s destiny, one must leave their ego and their self far behind.

Imagine a place where hearts are traced and the thought of hate, erased.

To contend in the journey of the extraordinary, one must be the ordinary.

Anthropologists have examined the culture of every recognized civilization.

It is the arts, and our relationships that provide the fuel for our destination.

The world has never suffered from the lack of desire, it is as inventive as fire.

Happiness is a by-product of what we do, not a test for what we know or knew.

Fear is the gun that the hand can hold, it is our attitude that teaches us to behold.

Behold the quest of what we choose, of what we will love, of what we will lose.

Love is the passage, the Earth to the Sky, the soul in its journey to find God’s why.

Love is the train that holds the cares, the ultimate joy of becoming the gift aware.

Unpredictable as the weather, we are Earth‘s family, we must ride this train together.

Train Stations

Ed,

Trains forever changed America. I can remember learning the song, "I Have Been Working On the Railroad" in elementary school. When I was a child they used music to teach social studies, history.

I wrote a Gospel song several years ago called, "The Train of Salvation".

I had a dream of a great train that came to a field, brought me on board, and flew into the sky.

One of my favorite train rides was right outside of the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

I also took a great train ride to West Berlin in 1967 when I was living in Germany (when I was in High School); we slept on the train. I saw the Berlin Wall and visited East Berlin too.

There is something very grand and beautiful about trains in history.

This poem was inspired by trains and current leaders (like Marianne Williamson) that care about politics and God. I believe that we need to change our world ... and the change begins here.

Thank you for reading my poetry. Without an audience, poetry is a dead language.

Warm regards,

Kathy :)
