Mission of Memories

Roll back all the clouds
Turn back all the wind
Hearts winding down
Want to breathe life in

Crank back to stillness
Land of waving wheat
Harvest a gold feeling
Wings upon your feet

Air of enchantments
When life was divine
Tree climbing spirits
Souls willing to climb

Heaven was a vision
Mountain tops reach
Stepping over rocks
God’s will to beseech

Reels of yesteryears
Trunks of treasures
Mission of memories
Worn and weathered

Chapel on the prairie
Welcoming her sheep
Windows for dreams
Promises, God keeps

Butterfly romances
Love that will wed
A life worth living
Hope, a homestead

Look back beyond
Beyond the storms
Back into America
To a vision forlorn

Dried flowers press
Into albums of ages
Broaden your view
Reflect on all pages

In a single thought
Images will inspire
We are the pictures
We hold our desires

America

is but a country, if not for the valiant people who lives in it.
I wrote a poem about America 2 months ago... about, how I desired to live and be like an American... until, I realized I am living my own America here in Philippines...
Your poem bleeds your loyalty and love for your country... which, I am happy to also now feel for my own.
As always, good work Kathy!
Looking forward to reading your next ones...
Eric

Mankind's Story

I really enjoyed this Kathy, the style and rhyme is wonderful, as is the pride and sense of belief you portray. We are all a part of the story "We are the pictures" , we all are responsible for what our page contributes to mankind's story as a whole. Inspiring!

Jill
