A Line in the Sand

I have drawn a line in the sand
To take my mark and firmly stand

Against all firearms of greed
Terrorizing our world to concede

To this current state of affairs
That holds us in poverty snares

A plaque that consumes our rights
With the backlash of human plight

To be persecuted for freedom’s voice
To be trialed for making a right choice

This is human history at its worse
These are the marks of a Black Curse

Victory will not fly down from an angel’s nest
This is a time that we must boldly contest

To lose our right to be employed
While sinful nature is deployed

Is arrogant and has our future branded
By the contemptuous and underhanded

The sharp claws of injustice are blood stained
With tongues of righteous that will not refrain

From drawing a line in the sand
To take a mark and stand

Against the firearms of greed
Terrorizing us to concede

Our liberty for death

(My prayers and thoughts are with the countless unemployed Americans that have suffered and lost their jobs to the fires of injustice burning across our nation.)

thoughtful write

it's a sad situation not seeming to get any better. the big banks and wall street jerks who created the problems in the first place got bailouts and are now raking in profits, but the people? yeah. thoughtful write, kathy.

~Lace Up Your Boots~

Neocon -

I am going in. Do you want to follow? I am not one to stand idle. I am determined to leave some footprints on the path.

I could use your good humor for back-up. I need to laugh in the midst of this hateful epidemic.

You have inspired me to console myself with this silly rhyme - dedicated to you Neocon:

DIDDLE ENVY

If I had a little diddle
I could stand and piddle

I could play fireman
And soak up all the land

I could put out bright flares
With lots of funny stares

It's such a silly thing
To want a ding-a-ling

But you know it goes
I want to watch myself grow

Smile...it's Saturday!

Warm regards,

Kathy
