Jeweled Phoenix
Evening flew upon cinnabar wings
Earth’s emissary, the hope of kings
Fire of suns, the dawn of dews nest
Arising horizon in an eagle’s quest
Towering flames, pheasant feathers
Carrying palms, a heart’s endeavors
Golden light of all immortal desiring
Great beauty of its divine conspiring
Aromatic breath of a God’s presence
Its gifts of spices, herbs, frankincense
Tree of Life into its winter of all being
Gathering the silver feathered fleeing
Into the fanned magistrate of all time
Jeweled Phoenix, fire in wind's chime
Soaring over mountains, into the light
Ashes to ashes, resurrected into flight
A cosmic creature of an ancient land
Teaching all continents to understand
“Fire is born of fire, light born of light
All colors of the sun gathered in sight
Stars will shine on ages, fires on a sea
Eyes are but the twinkle of an eternity
It is not what you see, but what bears
Be of compassion, a world that cares”

Cosmically Radiant
Wow, that was really amazing, Kathy. That invoked so many stories (including the greatest one of all time) as I read through it. I had to read it several times, as the layers were varied and the meanings numerous. A great piece of poetry about a great event, and as educational poetry it's marvelous. Well done. I look forward to seeing your poems in print one day. Wishing you all the very best. Kind regards,
Chris

Chris,
Fire is so meaningful. I have been consumed in images of fire for a long time now. I surrendered myself to the images of fire and the great Jeweled Phoenix.
'We' are on fire for our Lord. His Holy Spirit burns in each of us. In waves of fire we see where we are going.
Thanks for your kind heart and beautiful light. Your comments and poetry always spark my interests and passion.
Warm regards,
Kathy :o)
