I Jest

In folly I stand and I jest
A motley foolish quest
My scepter of laughter
Amused with disasters
I pull out from my face

I jest

In three dimensions, I spoof
White faced and quite aloof
Mocking what ails me
Whilst my country nails me

I spoof

With common sense I converse
Perfectly natural, and unrehearsed
I dare to look inside me
Nothing can hide in me

I converse

With passions ablaze, I scorn
My emotions tattered and worn
My country defamed me
Leaders have shamed me

I scorn

With bells on their caps, I laugh
The court has become quite daft
White faced in their folly
In their greed, they volley

I laugh

With unemployment, I weep
My gestures, not so discreet
Educated and starving
My future, I’m carving

I weep

In folly I stand and I jest
A motley foolish quest
My scepter of laughter
Amused with disasters
I pull out from my face

I jest
