Butterfly Wings

A hundred years from now, you will write my name in dust.

Silence will carry me, a great painted warrior, a golden gust.

In circles I will follow, beyond the symphony of lost arrows.

Intrigue turned to mountains, thoughts to singing sparrows.

Mindless the memories that fall like leaves in autumn clouds.

Love‘s metamorphosis, beating hearts in shimmering shrouds.

Lovingly, I will slumber on the branch of Mother’s fine Earth.

In your sorrow, God will release me into the Spirit of rebirth.

Into the air you will catch me, the painted warrior upon spring.

Dancing under the sky, I will bring hope, the everlasting ring.

Seasons will come and go, and time will pass in solar flowers.

The dust upon my wings will pollinate heaven, shining towers.

From the steeple I will go, the church bells playing our theme.

Into the desert I will surrender my cloak, my butterfly wings.

A hundred years from now, you will write my name in dust.

Silence will carry me, a great painted warrior, a golden gust.

Transcendance

I like this Kathy, great metaphors are used with the butterfly and the stages of life. To me and in some cultures the butterfly represents transcendence, which seems to be what this poem so eloquently relates. The silence of a loving soul is represented hear, it takes patience to learn to listen to the silence to accept the stillness and the grace it holds. You write wonderfully and share your faith and your beautiful soul in your writing. God bless you.

Love,

Jill
