Drowning Man's Grasp
When you accuse me of evil things,
My body contracts in pain.
How can you endure such hardships?
Your words and actions
Eating at my flesh like a voracious lion,
Tearing away the tenderness.
Fear and his brother Hate
In partnership with their sister, Greed
Fuelling violence and war,
The dark forces pulling at our sleeves.
Crazed by fear we act like children
And tear our dolls to pieces.
Is this drowning man’s grasp?
His last quest for acceptance and love?
In my heart - I know – it all belongs to me,
- Not you.
