Blackbird!

His black dress, shining!
No tuning necessary
Born, a genius!

Singing from his heart
Notes?
Redundant!

The freedom he has
Enough!
For this black maestro

Have you ever faced your hearts hunger?

Not from lack of food, spaggeti and starch,
But from the hunger to belong?

Strange is it not?
Why we try to escape this hunger,

Brothers on a journey

Do you think you can lead
A free, human being?
Me? I will not even try!
Just give him space to be himself.

We are in this life together.
No challenges to big
When we treat each other

Alone - But not Lonely

The human heart is longing to be real,
Begging the body to throw off its mask.
The voice of the heart is silent and patient,
The body’s stiff and arrogant,
Overestimating its own strength.

What is Wrong With Religion?

If you are the chosen one,
Will you be more chosen,
If I die?

If your book is holy
Is my book just a book,
Above no other?

If your God is the One,
Then what about my God?

If Spiders Could Talk

DAD!
A spider in my room!
Come NOW and take him out!
“What is his crime?”
I ask the child.

“Maybe we should ask?
Hear what the spider has
To say in his defense?”

Have You Hugged Your Kid Today?

Have you hugged your kid today?
Or just said the usual?

“Hurry up, play later!”
“What a silly question!”
“You’ll find out soon enough!”

Every Time I.....

Every time I look at you,
My heart skips a beat.

Every time I hear your voice,
My skin blushes in anticipation.

Every time I watch the sunrise,
My body fills with gratitude.

White Teeth and Shiny Shoes

I wish I were in your shoes!
All your money and fame,
White teeth - shiny shoes too.

Around your slender neck
A diamond necklace mocking gravity.
No wrinkles on your forehead

This Blessed Night

In rare moments, my heart is at peace.
I think of the times
You choose to refuse my bait,
To another endless night of struggle.

These are precious moments.
A message from my soul!

A Grandfather's Joy

A smiling face,
Lots of wrinkles, warts and all.
My grandchild laughing on my knee.

Makes me think about my youth,
How I ran away from my own son,
Not able to stand the pain.

"Dad, What is a Man?"

You used to ask;
“Dad, what is a man?”
Not knowing myself, I muttered something....
Uneasiness in my chest.

Remembering; many years ago,
When I asked your granddad the same thing.

True Kiss

A true kiss is innocent.
Not for sale!
Not for any price.

Someone once sang:
“You can fake it all,
But never a true kiss!
‘Cause it’s connected,
Directly to your heart”.

My Little Girl

My little girl!
What happened to us?

I left you, did I not?
Went off to fight in wars,
Killing fathers of other little girls,
Or did I just go the office 24 – 7?

Beauty and the Beast

Have you ever looked at a cauliflower?
The way you would a daisy,
In the spring?

One we take for granted.
The other we dream about in winter,
Promising romance and sunny days.
