Ragdoll Picture Book

when i hold you in my arms
you little soul of charms
i will do whatever i can
the sky will sing for you
when i stroke your raven hair
i'll feel we're not even there
a lick of your lips and
i think i know this is true.

playing with your fingers, smooth
as silk, getting into the groove
of wanting to love you, always
and still, i'd make the stars melt
running with your angelic feet
licking your lips, sugar sweet
i thought this would be it
and every word was heartfelt

and i think this is perfect.
i think this is what i waited for,
yes i think this is perfect.
but i think its not quite right...

your rose red cheeks
like mountain peaks
and when they avalanche
with a million tears
i'll rip apart the sky
just to wipe them dry
i'll beat down your foes
and scare away your fears.

with my life full of lies
i want to die in your eyes
we could be all there is
but that never happens for real
but for a kiss on the lips
i'll run just for trips
if this were to happen to me,
i never though this is how i'd feel.

and i thought this was perfect.
i thought this is what i waited for,
yes i though this was perfect.
but i know its not quite right.

for all your charms,
and tricks,
to lay down in your arms,
and sleep,
i'd rather leave and wait,
for who,
always seems too late...
