Tree of Life
Its Fall, your leaves grow thin
I can see right through them
To your trunk and limbs.
Let me take your faded hands
Their tanned and weathered skin
Let me hold them close in mine
Until in time it comes our time
To know the shadow lands.
Your leaves are gone
I can see your bones
As if you have nothing on.
I'll wrap my arms around you
Though stiff and stark you stand
So cold the garments near your skin
So quickly since the day you came
Comes the day you've gone.
The dark months pass
Your leaves turn green
I see them blowing in the wind.

this is
this is exquisite! Will i be able to write like this some day? (I don't write poetry at all...so it seems unlikely!)
Many thanks
Thank-you for the very kind comment
So glad you liked it
Something tells me you write more
Than what you say
Your comment made my day
