QUESTIONS OF LOVE?

Why? When we really need each other...
When? Why are we apart?

We tell each other that we care, it’s so apparent when we’re there.
But when we are apart the negative feelings start to eat me up inside
and try to make me re-decide...

Is the pleasure worth the pain?
Is the backslide worth the gain?
Is the time together worth the wait?
Is love really worth this altered state?

What? Where we seem to grow together...
Where? What still keeps us far apart?

Together we’re like kids, we laugh and play and run around.
Together, we feel so safe and sound. But when we separate, things
disintegrate, my patience starts to waver, my mind begins to labor...

Will we make the sacrifices?
Will we be ruined by our vices?
Will we grow in harmony?
Will love make one of us flee?

Who? How can we make more time together?
How? Who will make the start?

Being with you keeps me going, keeps me vibrant, full of hope.
Together, it’s so much easier to cope.
But when there’s space between us, my thoughts begin to haze,
I begin to gaze - at the questions in my mind. Any questions I can find...

Are we really being truthful? Is this feeling really useful?
Will our love begin to flower? Do we really have the power?
Can we satisfy our hearts? Will we need another start?
Do we really feel the same? If not, who’s to blame?
What a shame!

Why? When we really need each other...When? Why are we apart?
What? Where we seem to grow together...Where? What still keeps us far apart?
Who? How can we make more time together...How? Who will make the start?

Questions??? :)

This is wonderfully written John...so intelligent and thoughtful. I like the way you have switched the words and questions. There seems in love to be so many more questions than answers....though I think we grow in the searching...and in finding the answers we also learn more about ourselves. I really enjoyed this...so much to think about....
