Vanity Insanity
How beautiful someone says you are only matters to a certain extent.
You can be beautiful and not feel beautiful.
You can be confident and insecure.
Sometimes I forget my disease is all over my body. Then I see their eyes on me and I remember, I'm a spectacle. My skin is leopard like. To some it looks dirty, burned, vitiligo-like....bruised...
My neck I've only recently discovered feels horrible and looks bizarre. I wore a scarf on the hottest day to cover the "scars". These are the reasons I can't stand vanity. It's not fair to complain and obsess over your looks when there is always someone who has it worse. What is the point of dwelling on such details?
Remember this next time you are the one complaining. There are worse things.
