‘He lounges blissfully in bottom place,
And there the boy seems likely to remain,
His lack of effort beaming from his face,
Our labours to reform him quite in vain.
‘Sublime indifference, like a gentle breeze,
Has blown him safely to his present state,
The eighteenth century condoned such ease,
Which might suggest the boy was born too late.’
