Never wanting to say goodbye
I just have to go wow.
It's a full-time job
One you choose for life,
But it's something you can't replace
If the first time you don't get it right.
You home us,
Feed us,
Care for us,
Share your every day with us...
You love us,
Spoil us,
Make sure nothing bad
And nothing sad happens to us.
You look out for us,
Worry ten times over for us,
All without thinking,
All without expecting anything in return,
You're our teacher
Just being around you we always learn.
You love us
No matter what we do,
You try and help us
Even if we've hurt you.
You have patience with us
Even if we have none with you,
You take our moods in your stride,
You make us so we can't help but smile inside.
You have boundless energy
For all the things we wish to do,
You teach us right and wrongs,
You show us good and bad going's on,
You restrain us when we need to be held back,
You protect us and shelter us when we 're under attack.
You're our shield, our constant forcefield,
When we need comfort and safety we turn to you,
When we need someone to make things better we come to you,
You let us know when we've crossed the line,
You let us listen, we heed your advice
Whether it's something pleasant to hear
Or something not so nice.
You tell us things we may not want to be true
But you say them in such a way
That we want to better ourselves for you,
When everyone and everything
Has seemed to desert us
Has all but walked out,
You appear and with just one hug
It seems to have worked itself out.
You have a heart that's always open
A nature honest and forgiving,
A smile as welcoming as the sun,
And even with all the words in the world
There still isn't enough to describe that feeling
To when you say that one simple word,
In a way which says so much.....
