A Song For You

I wish I could tell you how I feel
But it's hard, when I don't understand myself,
I wish I could talk to you
Instead of crying out for help.
I've tried, but I can't
Explain things to you...
I've tried, but I can't
Say what I want to.
It's all bottled up inside
It won't come out,
I've tried and tried
It makes me want to scream and shout.
Every time I try
I just can't seem to spit them out,
I stutter and stumble
Mutter and mumble
Until I feel a right clout.
It's only three little words
Man, how hard can that be?
Extremely hard, if in my case
You're me.
I want to find a way
To tell you how I feel,
I don't want to always have to conceal
Them, each and every day.
So I thought I'd write you a letter
Then I thought, nah, I can think of a better
Romantic way to do it.
Besides, my handwriting's crap
If you read it, you'd think I was a right nit!
Poems aren't my thing
Be it on a whim,
Then I thought, hey, a song I can sing!
I'll sing you a song
Be it right or wrong,
I'll sing you a song
To make you feel like you belong...
So here's a song I can sing
A song for you,
A song to say something
That I've been meaning to.
It's a song especially for you,
That will always be for you,
It's a song that I've written
To say
I love you.

This Is Good Jewel

I like this a lot, an original approach to saying i love you. Amazing how hard it can be to say those three little words! Good write,
Dave

Thank you Dave

Thanks for your comment, I wrote this when I was finding it hard to say those little words to my (ex) boyfriend, a long time ago. Ahh, sweet love...

a song and a poem enveloping the most awesome force in nature... LOVE!
in the first place its for LOVE, that songs and poems are made...

Thank you clairejane

Love is the best when you're at your best, I do agree! Sometimes I write poetry that's quite long, but whatever I'm feeling I just go with the flow...thank you, Jewel
